2022 has arrived, and you know what new year means…NEW YOU! The Apprentice Employment Agency (AEA) wants you to know that we’re here to support you fully moving into the new year. It’s important you feel backing from us when searching for an apprenticeship, and we are also supporting some initiatives you might want to get involved!
Veganuary – the benefits
As we’re encouraging a new you in 2022, we’re lending our support to those taking part in Veganuary (you can still get involved for the last 3 weeks!). If you’re thinking about getting involved, we’ve listed a few of the benefits to keep you motivated…
- Look after your health – moving to a plant-based diet can be great for your body. Studies have found it can reduce the risk of developing type-2 diabetes and your chances of certain cancers. It’s been found to send blood pressure and cholesterol levels down too!
- Protect animals – an obvious benefit many people go vegan is to protect animals. Over 150 million farmed animals are killed each day around the world. By going vegan, you’re protecting animals!
- Boost your metabolism – following a plant-based diet burns calories 16% faster following meals than the average metabolism of meat-eaters. This can lead to weight loss too!
- Good for the environment – farming is one of the major contributors to deforestation, pollution, and water shortages. By eating a plant-based diet, you’re helping the planet live a more sustainable life!

New year, new hobby?
Moving into 2022, it’s important that you’re keeping yourself busy with things that you enjoy. As it’s a new year, why not start something new?
For a lot of people, fitness is the obvious choice. As it’s a new you, challenge yourself to some fitness goals, or join a Strava running club for some friendly competition!
Maybe fitness isn’t for you. That’s fine, there are tonnes of things you can do! You could start baking treats for family and friends. Test your knowledge and join a quiz team. Show off your music skills by joining a band. The opportunities are endless!
While your career is important, it’s good to have things you enjoy outside of your apprenticeship. If you choose something you’re enthusiastic about, you’re almost certain to enjoy it more!
You’re our priority this year, just make sure you’re prioritising yourself too!
