From Apprentice Training Agency to Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency

The Apprenticeship Training Agencies (ATAs) register has been dormant since 2018 (we have been operating as a Govt. accredited ATA since 2012). The ATA register has been removed with the introduction of Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agencies. We are delighted to bring news that we are now known as a Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency, and we are excited to continue working with fantastic businesses to provide apprentice employment.

What is a Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency?

What is a Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency?

A Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency is an organisation that employs apprentices and places them with a Host Employer to complete apprenticeship training, enabling them to gain the skills and knowledge to complete their apprenticeship qualification and open up future employment opportunities. Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agencies provide an alternative model for apprentice employment, supporting businesses in specific sectors, professions or locations to overcome barriers preventing them from employing apprentices directly.

Here to support you

If an employer has a lower headcount or lacks resources to source apprentices, Flexi-Job Agencies will help the employer. For example, suppose there is unmet demand for apprenticeships due to the propensity of short-term/temporary contracts. In that case, a Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency will offer support to assist in completing a full apprenticeship.

What does this mean for us?

What does this mean for us?
Flexi-Job Apprenticeships

We have been undertaking this role for over a decade but needed to demonstrate how our model meets the new Flexi-Job Registration requirements. We were therefore assessed in a range of critical areas, including compliance, due diligence and financial health and have been granted an official Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency status.

Delivering Value

Our new status does not affect our service, which will continue to be excellent and deliver the utmost value. We will carry on working with businesses and assist in their search to attract the best fledgling talent through our national training provider network.

We will still manage apprentices as they complete their programmes; we are excited to continue playing a vital role in developing apprentices and the businesses that help nurture their talent throughout the UK.

Flexibility leads to success

Using a Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency is exciting for employers and apprentices, allowing anybody to start an apprenticeship regardless of their level. It supports everyone from school leavers or university graduates to those looking for a completely new career direction.

The apprentice receives certification aligned to the academic-equivalent education pathways. For example, a Level 3 Apprenticeship would be equivalent to an A-Level course. You can find out more about the different stages by accessing our resources below:

95% of apprenticeship costs for SME's covered by Government

Apprenticeships are funded from contributions made by both the government and employer.

As an Apprenticeship Levy paying organisation you can use your apprenticeship levy to pay the training costs  for your direct headcount apprentices; or – you can use the levy transfer solution to pay for the ‘off headcount’ apprenticeship training costs. As of 2024, Apprenticeship Levy paying employers can transfer up to 50% of their non-exhausted Apprenticeship Levy fund to us, to pay for the apprenticeship training of apprentices.

As an SME you can benefit from up to 95% Government funding to cover the training costs of your apprenticeship delivery, you pay the 5% co- investment fee to contribute to the training costs i.e. if apprenticeship ‘training’ costs £100 you would be responsible for £5 of the costs*.
