AEA named as a certified Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency
The register of Apprenticeship Training Agencies (ATAs) has been dormant since 2018 and with the introduction of Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agencies, the ATA register has been removed. We are delighted to bring news that as of 1st January 2023, we will be known as a Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency, and we are excited to continue working with fantastic businesses to provide apprentice employment. But what does the new status mean?
What is a Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency?
A Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency is an organisation that employs apprentices and places them with a host employer to complete apprenticeship training. They provide an alternative model for employing apprentices and supporting businesses in specific sectors, professions or locations to overcome barriers preventing them from employing apprentices directly.
For example, if there is unmet demand for apprenticeships due to the propensity of short-term/temporary contracts, a Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency will offer support to assist in completion of a full apprenticeship. If an employer has a lower headcount or a lack of resources to source apprentices, Flexi-Job Agencies will step in and help the employer.
What does it mean for us?
Here at the AEA we have been undertaking this role for over a decade but needed to articulate how our model would meet the new Flexi-Job Registration requirements. We were therefore assessed in a range of key areas including compliance, due diligence and financial health.
We are delighted to have passed the criteria and will be operating as an official Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency from 2023. This accreditation will allow us to stand out from other apprentice employment providers as we have a certified and recognised certification.
How does it affect businesses looking to work with us?
It doesn’t, is the short answer. The service we provide to businesses will continue to be excellent and deliver the upmost value. We will carry on working with employers to assist in their search to find, attract and manage the employment contracting of the best young talent and training provider provision through our national provider network.
Our management of apprentices throughout their apprenticeship programmes will remain, and look forward to continuing to play a key part in development of young people as they build their futures with fantastic businesses across the UK.
You may not know, but we are in ‘Cherry Picking’ season for businesses looking to recruit apprentices for apprenticeships in 2023.
